With back wall rebuilt, YAC reaches out

It was a long process, but the Leavenworth Youth Achievement Center recently finished a much-needed improvement project.

According to the center’s executive director Deborah Gregor, the back wall of the facility on Delaware Street looked a bit strange one day while she and another volunteer were doing routine weeding and other maintenance outside.

The back wall of the brick building was buckling outward. It was definitely cause for alarm, Gregor said.

Now repaired, Gregor and president of the center's board, Phil Parsons, said the YAC is trying to reach out to the community with efforts like the center's annual Karaoke Party April 16.
