Bridget O'Neil

Age: 18

Grade: Senior

School: Immaculata High School

About Bridget:

Hometown: Leavenworth, although O’Neil said she was born in Colorado, is part of a military family and has moved a lot. She has four siblings — three, including her twin sister Ashley, are students at Immaculata. Her younger sister is in the Xavier schools.

Interests: Reading, hanging out with friends and youth group.

What are your plans after graduation and why?

“I’d like to become a vet in the future or do physical or occupational therapy, but mainly a veterinarian.”

As part of the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth’s Jubilee Scholarship that O’Neil received on Friday, she will be attending the University of Saint Mary next year to pursue her goal. The university awards two of the full scholarships each year.

What inspired your career choice?

I’ve always loved animals and growing up we’ve always had a pet in the house. It helps people as well because pets are their best friends. So it’s a way of helping others that’s also helping animals as well.”

What is your favorite class subject?

“Definitely anatomy. I love anatomy, it’s just really interesting and it’s amazing how the human body works.”
