The Lansing Community Library might have moved into a new building last July, but it brought with it the community support it has had since its formation, according to current director Kim Turner.

Now, the facility has a new source of support in the form of the Friends of the Lansing Library. The recently formed group will provide fundraising support as well as advocacy and educational programs to the library, according to President Jim Fricke. Turner said there is plenty of room for help, even with the support of the city of Lansing for the facility’s budget.

“Basically what they are going to do is help pick up the slack,” she said.
