With several school properties up for sale in Leavenworth, officials are giving interested buyers the chance to submit sealed bids.
“The process, I think, is going to make an even playing field,” said Mike Reilly, president of Coldwell Banker Reilly & Sons.
The real estate agency is assisting the Leavenworth school district with the sale of the Howard Wilson, Muncie and Ben Day elementary school properties as well as Abeles Field and three vacant lots on Meadow Lane.
The properties have been put up for sale as a new school is being constructed and others are being renovated in the district as part of a bond issue.
Reilly said sealed bids will be opened at 5 p.m. March 1 at the school district’s administration building, 200 N. Fourth St.
“It’s not going to be an auction,” he said.
