It’s been more than a year in the making, but the DeRossett Company, currently based in Kansas City, Kan., is making the move across the county line.
Owner Mike DeRossett said his company, a manufacturer’s representative for natural gas equipment like meters, is hoping to move into a new building in Leavenworth County in June 2010.
DeRossett said the company has been in business since 1985 and in its current location since 1994. The DeRossett Company has clients in six different states: South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma.
“We’re glad to move,” DeRossett said.
Steve Jack, executive director of the Leavenworth County Development Corporation, said DeRossett first contacted his organization in December 2007 looking to build a new facility in the Urban Hess Industrial Park.
