Driver extricated after crash in county

A De Soto man had to be extricated from a vehicle following a crash Saturday in southeast Leavenworth County, according to a Sheriff’s Office report.

The accident was reported at 10:10 a.m. Saturday east of 170th Street on Loring Road.

It’s not clear from the information released what caused the accident, but a 1993 Cadillac DeVille ended up on its side. And the driver, a 58-year-old man, was extricated by firefighters.

The driver was said to have been alert at the scene and spoke with deputies. He was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan., according to the report.

The car was considered a total loss.
