Future trails in Leavenworth was a topic of discussion when city commissioners met Tuesday.
They listened to a presentation about the final draft of the master trail plan.
“It is a plan,” Steve Rhoades said. “The plan should be flexible.”
Rhoades is a representative of Patti Banks Associates, a Kansas City, Mo., consulting firm hired to work on the plan.
A steering committee with city personnel and other local residents also worked on the plan, according to Julie Anderson, the city’s parks and recreation director.
According to the plan’s introduction, the document provides a long-term framework for a citywide system of multi-use trails and bicycle routes.
