A class of seventh-graders at Richard W. Warren Middle School are collecting donated jeans for homeless teens.

The effort, which is part of the nationwide Teens for Jeans program, began Jan. 16.

The gently worn jeans are being collected by a seminar class, which teacher Terry Nixon said is similar to a homeroom class. The seminar class has 25 students.

The collection effort will last through Feb. 12. The jeans will be delivered to an Aeropostale store so they can be distributed. The Aeropostale company is a sponsor of the Teens for Jeans program. As of Tuesday afternoon, the class at Warren had received 56 donated jeans.
