After Leavenworth police made a traffic stop, a woman allegedly tried to discard drugs by exiting the vehicle and knocking on a stranger’s door, according to a police spokesman.

Suspected drug materials reportedly were dropped near the porch of the house.

But they were recovered by an officer, said Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.

The incident occurred at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday. Smith said the Leavenworth Police Department received a complaint about reckless driving involving a Toyota 4Runner.

An officer located and stopped the vehicle in the 2000 block of Rose Street, Smith said.
