A Leavenworth man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after he allegedly threatened his sister and brother-in-law with a knife, a police spokesman said.
The incident occurred at about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 1900 block of 10th Avenue.
The 65-year-old suspect reportedly was involved in an argument. At some point, he allegedly pulled out a kitchen knife in front of his 66-year-old sister and her 69-year-old husband, according to Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department.
The suspect allegedly said, “Who wants it first?”
The suspect and victims separated and the police were called.
It was reported to authorities that the suspect was extremely intoxicated, Smith said.
When officers arrived, the suspect was in the back yard of the residence and didn’t have a knife. Smith said the man was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was arrested for an allegation of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
