Two inmates accused of attacking officers at a Leavenworth detention facility appeared Monday in county district court.
Maurice Dickens appeared in court for a pretrial conference.
Dickens faces a charge of aggravated battery for allegedly assisting in the stabbing of a correctional officer, Cory O’Neill, Oct. 22 at the Corrections Corporation of America Leavenworth Detention Center, according to County Attorney Todd Thompson.
Joseph Bellamy appeared Monday in Leavenworth County District Court for an arraignment on charges of two counts of aggravated battery.
Bellamy is accused of stabbing O’Neill and correctional officer Kennith Lajiness. The crimes are alleged to have occurred during the same Oct. 22 incident, according to Thompson.
