Woman injured in crash

A woman was taken to the hospital after her sport utility vehicle was totaled in a crash Sunday near Easton, according to a report from the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 6:25 a.m. Sunday west of 215th Street on Kansas Highway 192.

Gina Marie Jessup, 21, McLouth, apparently fell asleep while driving east in a 2001 Nissan Xterra.

The SUV went off the road and struck a culvert. The vehicle “cart-wheeled” over a driveway, crashing into a ditch, according to the report. The vehicle came to rest on its driver’s side.

Jessup was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kan.
