Tattoos from unlicensed providers in Leavenworth have led to a hepatitis C scare for one teenager.

And authorities are urging others to be tested, according to a police spokesman.

Leavenworth Police Chief Pat Kitchens said investigators have identified four teenagers who have received tattoos from unlicensed providers.

He said people under the age of 18 must have parental consent in order to obtain tattoos.

“None of the parents knew about it,” Kitchens said.
