Though it’s only in its third year, the DECA club at Lansing High School has plenty to be proud of.

Throughout the year, the students in the organization participate in community service projects and fundraising. But they also test their business brawn and management mettle in a number of competitions at both state and national levels.

Last year 11 students from the club were able to attend the national-level marketing and business management contest, according to Dustin Myers, adviser for the club at LHS.

This year, of the 24 students who participated in the state conference March 7 through 9 in Overland Park, Kan., 15 are moving on to the national contest April 24 through 27 in Louisville, Ky.
