A Leavenworth man was arrested last week after he allegedly kidnapped his ex-girlfriend and took her to a wooded park, a police spokesman said.
The 18-year-old man took off when he saw a police car in the park, according to Maj. Robert Smith, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Department.
The suspect later was taken into custody.
The incident reportedly began around midnight Nov. 6.
The victim, an 18-year-old Leavenworth woman, was driving a 1995 Ford Escort south on Franklin Street. Another woman also was in the car.
The victim was stopped at a stop sign when the suspect approached in an 1990 Infiniti car. The suspect allegedly rammed his car into the side of the victim’s vehicle several times, according to Smith.
