The Leavenworth Parks and Recreation is offering a fall session of dog training classes beginning Saturday.
The session, which will continue through Oct. 23 with no class on Oct. 9, is a seven-week session that encourages dog owners to work with their dogs.
Two classes are offered — basic obedience and intermediate obedience/AKC CGC. The basic obedience class will meet from 10 to 11:15 a.m. each Saturday.
The intermediate obedience/AKC CGC class will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each Saturday. Dogs must have successfully completed the basic obedience class or have the permission of the instructor to enroll.
For both classes, dogs need to be 4 months of age or older, handled by someone who is at least 12 years old, be fully current on vaccinations and be non-dog and people aggressive.
Registration is going on now; class size is limited. A person must register and pay prior to coming to class. The class fee for basic obedience is $70. The intermediate obedience/AKC CGC class is $80.
