Leavenworth, Kan. -

An oil spill on a stretch of county road near Bonner Springs June 15 cost approximately $3,402 to clean up, according to a memorandum from the county’s Emergency Management department.

Commissioner J.C. Tellefson called the incident “vandalism” during a meeting Monday after receiving word of the cost of cleanup.

“It wasn’t an oil spill, it was an oil dump,” he said.
