Roy Wayne Holland, 92, of Leavenworth, died, Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa.

Roy Wayne Holland, 92, of Leavenworth, died, Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. He was born April 28, 1924, the son of Roy J. and Doris R. (Brayman) Holland.
On Feb 2, 1943, Roy married Frances L. Maretoli. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Julie Holland; a sister, Jean Holland; a brother, William Holland; and a daughter-in-law, Jan Holland.
Roy is survived by three sons, Robert Holland, Richard Holland and Tom Holland; a daughter, Terese Meredith; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Roy was a World War II veteran and survivor of Battle of the Bulge.
He retired from Fort Leavenworth after over 30 years as a mechanical engineer. After retirement, Roy and his wife Frances volunteered at St. Johns Hospital running the lifeline program.
Visitation beginning with the rosary will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Immaculate Conception Church, with Fr. David McEvoy, O.Carm. as celebrant. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to CASA of Leavenworth or St. Vincent Clinic.
