A Celebration of Life Visitation for Shannon Louise Schavee Ryan will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday July 28, 2017 at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth Kansas. Shannon passed away on Saturday July 22, 2017 surrounded by her family.
She was born on March 19, 1979 in Leavenworth, Kansas. The daughter of Kevin and Joan Schavee and twin sister of Shawn Schavee.
Shannon was a 1998 Leavenworth High School graduate. Shannon went on to attend Kansas State University in 1998 and transferred to the University of Kansas graduating in 2002 with a degree in Journalism. She always had a passion for the elderly, which led to her return to school, receiving her Associates degree in Nursing in 2012 from Kansas City Kansas Community College. At the time of her death Shannon was completing the bridge program to obtain her Bachelors of Science in nursing. She was expecting to graduate from Fort Hays State University in December 2017.
Shannon married her high school sweetheart Jeremy Ryan on December 17, 2004 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They have two beautiful sons Jacob Thomas Ryan and Justin Patrick Ryan.
Shannon worked at St. Johns Hospital on the senior behavioral health unit in Leavenworth Kansas up until June 2017.
Survivors include husband and best friend Jeremy Ryan, sons Jacob Ryan and Justin Ryan, twin brother Shawn Schavee, all of Leavenworth; brother Brian Schavee, Lawrence; parents Kevin and Joan Schavee, Leavenworth; and grandmother Florence Javers of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Family and friends are encouraged to share their stories, memories, and pay their respects Friday evening at Davis Funeral Chapel in Leavenworth between 6-8:30 p.m. The family is hoping to accommodate Shannon’s friends and colleagues that work at the hospital on both shifts.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be sent to Citizens Savings and Loan in the name of Shannon’s boys: Jacob Thomas Ryan and Justin Patrick Ryan fund. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
