Judy Ann Sudtelgte, age 69, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Los Angeles, California and Elkton, South Dakota passed away suddenly March 13, 2017.

Judy Ann Sudtelgte, age 69, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Los Angeles, California and Elkton, South Dakota passed away suddenly March 13, 2017.
She was born February 24, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa.
Preceded in death by parents Justin and Iona Sudtelgte and brother Jerry Sudtelgte. Survived by sister Shirley Robinson (Ken), sister Dorothy Chrun (Michael), and sister Mary Ottoson (Ron), brother Joseph Sudtelgte (Susan).
Judy graduated with honors from Pipestone High School (Pipestone, Minnesota),
Southwest State University (Marshall, Minnesota) and a Masters degree in French from
the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
She was a High School French teacher (Leavenworth, Kansas), Federal Bureau of
Investigation as a Special Agent (Los Angeles) and Internal Revenue Service employee,
Kansas City. She received three FBI commendations for outstanding actions during the
1984 Summer Olympics.
She enjoyed reading, playing guitar, drawing, quilting, knitting, key boarding,
needlecraft, crocheting, coin collecting, book collecting, swimming, running and tennis.
Judy received an AATF (American Association of Teachers of French) scholarship and
studied in Avignon, France and was a student counselor during a four week experience
living in a French home at Deauville, France. She also had a three and a half month living
experience with French families in Paris, Querre, and Noirmoutier, France. Judy was a
Phi Theta Kappa Alumni, and on the National Dean’s list.
Private services and burial will be conducted Thursday August 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. 
at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Elkton, South Dakota through the Rude Funeral Home in
Brookings, South Dakota.
