Edward Lee Barr, 77, died, in his home January 8, 2018, with his wife of 55 years, Jutta, by his side.
Ed enlisted in the United States Army in 1960. Following 20 years of honorable service, he retired in 1980. He served two tours in Vietnam.
He enjoyed a quiet evening with the love of his life, Jutta, working in his yard, a morning walk with his beloved dog Toby, fishing trips with his longtime buddies, summer trips to Western Montana, and a good glass of scotch in the evening.
Above all, he loved his family and genuinely enjoyed visits from his daughter Sandra, son-in-law Harry and his three granddaughters, Nichol, Ashley and April. He cherished his time spent on a warm summer evening porch with all of them and his four grandchildren, Eryn, Shawn, Gavin and Rowan.
Services will be held January 18, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in his name to the American Cancer Society.
