Philip M Brown, 85, Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home.

Philip M Brown, 85, Leavenworth, Kansas passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 11, 1932 to Orville W and Helen Sheets Brown in Wayne County, Iowa. He moved to Leavenworth while in the 5th grade. He graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1950. On April 30, 1953 he married Anna Merie Murawski.  
Philip served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a Correctional Officer at the Leavenworth U.S. Penitentiary and retired with over 30 years of service. Philip was a member of the Church of the Open Door. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and NRA. He was also a member of the Leavenworth County Historical Society and Federal Prison Retirees.
Philip enjoyed attending auctions, collecting antiques, gardening, KU basketball, trips to Colorado, and taking the grandchildren to Branson.
Philip is survived by his children, Gayle Brown of Parkville, Missouri and Bart (Gwendolyn) Brown of Bentonville, Arkansas, brother Allen Brown of Leavenworth, Kansas, sister Beverly Dawes of Portland, Oregon, four grandchildren, Sasha Bridges and Maryann Ball of Parkville, Missouri and Audrey and Claire Brown of Bentonville, Arkansas, step-grandchildren Desiree’ Brinkley of Charlotte, North Carolina and Javan Carron of Bentonville, Arkansas and numerous nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Merie and his parents.
Memorials may be given to Church of the Open Door. Family will receive friends 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Davis Funeral Chapel. Pastor Damian Efta will officiate. Burial at Mount Muncie will follow. Arrangements entrusted to Davis Funeral Chapel.
