Grace Thengvall
90, Leavenworth
Grace G. Thengvall, 90, of Leavenworth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
Grace was born on October 17, 1919 in Gallipolis, OH to George W. and Nora (Lively) Cooley.  She was united in marriage on November 12, 1943 in Richvale, CA to Kenneth N. Thengvall.
Grace worked in domestic service as a young woman and as a secretary at the Ninth Service Command, Fort Douglas, UT during the war.  Through 66 years of marriage she was a devoted wife and mother and was a faithful companion to the end.  She supported her husband Kenneth during 46 years of his pastoral ministry.  She had a tremendous love for God, his Word and a desire for all to know Jesus as their Savior.  We are thankful that she is in His presence.  Grace was a much loved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by:her parents, siblings Ethel Mellinger, Luster Cooley, Earl Cooley, Eunice Russell, Leo Cooley and Olive Shenefiel.
She is survived by her husband Kenneth Thengvall, son Phil (Dotty) Thengvall, Wichita, KS; daughter Patti (Dale) Carlson, Santa Ana, CA; son Ray (Marilyn) Thengvall, Angels Camp, CA; son Ken (Ellen) Thengvall, Santa Rosa, CA; daughter Lynn (Juergen) Scherpel, Duesseldorf, Germany; daughter Kay (Frank) Wenzel, Leavenworth, KS; son Vinton (Frances) Thengvall, Merced, CA; 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at High Prairie Church, 26480 187th Street, Leavenworth, KS
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Wycliffe Bible Translators- 866-736-4387.
