Olive Mae Coffman “Blondie” Leaver
Age 86 passed away on January 9, 2012. Born in Rolla, Missouri on August 30, 1925, she was the only child of Miles and Adah Coffman. She was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband of 50 years, Harvey Beers Leaver. She is survived by her three children, Stephen Coffman Leaver ( Linda), Kathryn Leaver Nappier ( Herb), and Paul Harvey Leaver ( Kathy) ; seven grandchildren, Chris Leaver, Kevin Leaver ( Shelia),Bert Nappier ( Suzanne), Andy Nappier, Katy Nappier, Sarah Katherine Nichols ( Hughston), and Ben Leaver ( Allison); and six great grandchildren, Sam Leaver, Brycen Leaver, Brylee Leaver, Caroline Nappier, Zack Nappier and Hughston Nichols, Jr. A lifelong Presbyterian, she was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church in Birmingham. She was active in community activities everywhere she lived and volunteered endless hours to the Leavenworth Assistance Center, while she was residing in Lansing, Kansas. Blondie spent the last years of her life at Kirkwood by the River, in Birmingham, AL and the family would like to extend special thanks to her caregivers and extended family there. A memorial service was held in the Chapel of Kirkwood by the River on Sunday, January 15, 2012 at 1:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Harvey B and Olive C Leaver Memorial Scholarship Fund, Missouri University of Science and Technology, 1201 N State Street, Rolla, MO 65409, or Kirkwood by the River, c/o Independent Presbyterian Church, 3100 Highland Avenue, Birmingham, AL 35205.
