Karen Louise (Brooks) Thompson 68, Leavenworth, Kansas was called home on Saturday, December 31, 2011. She passed away at St. John's Hospital after a long, hard battle with cancer.
She was born January 21, 1943 to Harry C. and Dorothy (Zink) Brooks. She graduated from Leavenworth High School in 1961.
She is survived by a brother, Richard (Stella) Brooks, Livingston, Tennessee and a sister Linda (Raymond) Guinto, Channahon, Illinois. One daughter Anna (Mike) Brown, Leavenworth. Five sons David (Darla) Godfrey, Dennis (Sherri) Godfrey, Harry (Josey) Godfrey, Danny Godfrey all of Leavenworth and Paul (Rene) Godfrey Jr. of Tyngsborough, Massachusetts. She also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Harry Brooks, Jr.
She loved spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed a winning trip to the casino, playing dominoes, and an occasional trip to the zoo with the grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at St. Joseph Church, 306 No. Broadway, Leavenworth, at 10:00am, Monday, January 9, 2012.
