To the editor:
Democrats are now so obsessed with the defense of their disintegrating party that if it’s criticized, no matter how truthfully, they must take it as a personal insult, an attack on their psyche, a personal injury, and demand that person shut up and forfeit their freedom of speech rather than do them some grievous harm. Piffle.
That kind of thinking is how we got these snowflake millennials who, though old enough to be adults with accomplishments, have none, and retreat to safe rooms with coloring books, Play-Doh and stuffed animals for solace if anyone utters a word not coinciding with their liberal indoctrination. And they’re a mess.
A 2016 survey found that, since 1990, rates of depression and anxiety among the young have increased 70 percent, and the American Counseling Association has reported “a rising tide of personality disorders among millennials.”
A 2014 survey of 100,000 college students at 53 campuses by the American College Health Association found that a whopping 84 percent of college students feel unable to cope with life, and more than half experience overwhelming, crippling anxieties.
Running to a safe space is a form of psychological repression. The safe space presents a fantasy barrier against imagined evils, a form of hyper-fragility and infantilism. The safe spaces resemble day cares, not adult environments. A decade and a half after day care, the snowflakes must return to it. Everything they run to evokes childhood, and infantilism, not adulthood.
These snowflakes are exhibiting all the symptoms found in the High Conflict Personality Disorder category known as Axis II in DSM-V, including Anti-Social Personality Disorder, Histrionic Personality Disorder, Paranoid Personalty Disorder, Narcissistic Personality Disorder and Borderline Personality Disorder. And they self-injure at high rates. Their judgment isn’t that of rational, mentally healthy adults.
They’re under-educated, unprepared, illiterate, non-accomplished, immature and psychiatrically deficient, and don’t comprehend the complexities of the world of realities they’ll someday face. They’ve been given trophies simply for participation, think they must win every time, or fly into tantrums like 3-year-olds, and escape back to infancy.
Many are quite useless in civilian workforces, and military recruiters report that about 75 percent are unfit for military service. They’re a danger to our future national security and public safety.
Our public school systems and universities have become bastions of liberalism. Conservatives are nearly non-existent there.
And now we have a generation of young Americans totally unprepared for life and meaningful employment, and suffering mental disorders in nearly epidemic numbers.
This is where liberalism/progressivism has left a generation of young Americans. They, and the people who made them like this, are unfit to make policy decisions or judgments for this country. Sad, but true.
