To the editor:
This short letter is addressed to the “Miss Manners” impersonator that is so offended because he thinks Bill Mason is picking on some of our local far-right malcontents that frequently write their goofy thoughts into letters to the editor.
“Miss Manners” surely should know that these characters are itching to start the equivalent of a pissing contest with readers that don’t agree with them by aping what they hear from radio and TV provocateurs. These characters are so delusional that they try to pass themselves off as James Madison or Alexander Hamilton incarnates. They would have us believe that they could channel the framers of the Constitutions intent and morph their good work into their own silly and twisted thoughts on what it is to be a patriotic American. How sad.
So, let’s cut it to the quick. “Miss Manners,” you need to lighten up. You need to laugh, along with the rest of us at these self-proclaimed definers of the Constitution. You should thank Mr. Mason for taking the time to set up these pissing contest provocateurs into the proper position to do their business. Straight into the wind, if you know what I mean.
