Nina E. Hajda,
Kansas Coffee Party Shawnee, Kan.
To the editor:
This is a letter to inform your readers what the Kansas Coffee Party Movement is about and what it stands for.
The Kansas Coffee Party Movement is about civil, productive dialog in politics. We believe that the people of Kansas are polite, sensible, intelligent and hard-working people whose lives are built on common respect.
The vast majority of Kansans want their political representatives to be civil and respectful, even when there is a difference in opinion.
The Kansas Coffee Party Movement (CPM) is NOT the opposite of the Tea Party. The Kansas CPM is non-partisan; it is not affiliated with any political party. The Kansas CPM does not endorse any political candidate, but it recognizes candidate’s actions/words/behaviors that further “civility in politics.”
The Kansas Coffee Party Movement stands for “Putting Kansas First,” before political party affiliation.
The Kansas CPM stands for putting our country first and doing what is right for our country, before political party ideology.
The Kansas Coffee Party Movement welcomes all people who seek meaningful, constructive discourse in matters that affect our towns, our state and our country.
