Rosters have been announced for the Kansas Barnstormer basketball game Saturday night at Lansing High School.
University of Kansas basketball player Clay Young, a product of Lansing High, will be one of the members of the Kansas Barnstormers.
He will be joined by KU teammates Devonte Graham and Svi Mykhailiuk, as well as other college players.
The game is a production of sports radio station 810 Varsity.
The team also includes Khalil Bailey of Ottawa University, Vince Fritz of Missouri Southern, Brady Skeens of Washburn University and Dontae Gibson of Kansas City Kansas Community College.
Bailey and Gibson were teammates of Young at Lansing High School.
They will play against the 810 Varsity All-Stars, a team comprised of several high school players with local connections.
The All-Stars include Garrett Luinstra of Lawrence Free State, Cooper Kaifes of Mill Valley, Luke Waters of Olathe Northwest, Jalan Robinson of Lawrence Free State, Joe Pleasant of Blue Valley Northwest, Jared Baruth of De Soto, Doc Covington of Piper, Bryce Yoder of Piper and Josh Williams of Bonner Springs.
Luinstra will be a preferred walk-on next year at KU. Several other players on the All-Stars have made their college choices as well. Kaifes will play at Loyola, Waters will play at Northwest Missouri State, Yoder will play at Simpson College and Oakes will play at Baker University. Robinson will play football at KU.
“It should be a fun, run-and-gun game, maybe we'll have a 10-second shot clock,” said Chad Rader of 810 Varsity. “If a team doesn't break 100, I'll be stunned.”
The game begins at 7:30 p.m. The players will be available for autographs at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for children 10-under. Children 4-under will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased at the gym on the night of the event.
Lansing High School is located at 1412 147th St.
