Former Lansing High School standout Clay Young scored a game-high 31 points to lead the Kansas Barnstormers to a 118-98 victory over the 810 Varsity All-Stars Saturday night at Lansing High School.
Young joined University of Kansas teammates Devonte Graham and Svi Mykhailiuk in the game.
Mykhailiuk finished with 23 points while Graham had 18.
Former Lansing High standout Khalil Bailey scored 16 points, many of them coming on dunks.
The Barnstormers consisted of several other college players who squared off against a collection of high school players.
Cooper Kaifes of Mill Valley led the All-Stars with 24 points.
“It was great that people got the chance to see some of their favorite basketball players up close and personal,” said Chad Rader of 810 Varsity. “It was a fun night for the Lansing and Leavenworth communities.”
Rader said that approximately 1,000 fans attended the game.
“I was pleased with the turnout,” he said.
Rader said Graham delighted the crowd when he gave a jersey and tennis shoes to a girl in the stands.
Rader said the game was such a success that he hopes to organize another one next year in Lansing or Leavenworth.
