Lansing Reds to play Hays Eagles in first round of state tourney

The Lansing Reds will play the Hays Eagles in their first-round game at the 2010 Kansas American Legion Baseball Class A state tournament. The Reds and Eagles will meet on Friday at 1 p.m.
Hays advances into the state tournament after beating Dodge City 5-1 in the championship game of the Zone 7 tournament.
 The Reds earned a third straight trip to the state tournament after winning a best of three series with the Atchison Junior A’s in the Zone 1 tournament. It will be Lansing’s fourth trip to state in the past five years.
The game between Lansing and Hays opens to the state tournament. The winner will advance to play the winner of the Zone 2 vs. Zone 6 game at 6 p.m. Saturday. The loser will turn around and play again at 10 Saturday morning, taking on the loser of the Zone 2/Zone 6 matchup.
The Kansas American Legion Baseball Class A state tournament is a double elimination tournament and will run through Tuesday, July 27.
