The Lansing Cavalry finished second at the Doniphan County tournament on Monday, falling to KC Varsity in the title game. The Cavalry had breezed through up to the championship contest, coming into the game undefeated.

Starting Thursday night with a 7-6, extra-inning win over Falls City (Neb.), the Cavalry finished out the winner’s bracket with a 9-3 win over Sabetha on Saturday and a 13-3, four-inning victory over KC Varsity on Sunday. Errors turned the tide for Lansing though, with five miscues helping KC Varsity avenge Sunday’s loss with a 12-2 win over the Cavalry to take the trophy.
