The Easton Outlaws earned a sweep over the Piper Pirates on Thursday evening at Al Padilla Field in Leavenworth, holding on for a 6-4 win in game one before rolling to a 12-3 victory in the nightcap.

Seeing his team’s offense pick up after a slow start to the season, Outlaws coach Jeremy Crook said, was one of the highlights of Thursday’s American Legion Post 23 League wins.

“The first game we left a lot of people stranded, we able to get just enough over to win the game,” Crook said. “In the second game we weren’t having a problem getting runners across. We’ve had some struggles hitting the ball, but tonight everyone was hitting the ball and doing their job.”
