The University of Saint Mary baseball team will be hosting a holiday hitting clinic on Dec. 29, 30 and 31. For athletes in kindergarten to the eighth grade, the clinic will run from 9-10:15 a.m. and for high school players the clinic will go from 10:30-11:45 a.m. The three-day event will take place at McGilley Field House on the campus of Saint Mary.
For $40 the campers will get three one-hour group hitting sessions that focus on the fundamentals of hitting. This will include swing fundamentals, philosophy, mental preparation, strength training, proper drill techniques and video analysis to improve hitting. Instructors include USM head coach Rob Miller and assistant coaches Michael Evans, Dale Fink and Bobby Bride.
The athletes are asked to bring turf or tennis shoes, a glove, bat and any other needed equipment. Participants need proof of insurance to attend.
