The Leavenworth Catholic School Raiders picked up their third win of the year on Tuesday night in Sandy Koufax League play at Sportsfield, notching a 13-10 victory over the Titans. Getting the win with the league tournament beginning next Saturday, Raider team captain Colin Parker said, is important for the team.
“We’ll have a better mentality that we can win, especially after this positive game,” Parker said.
LCS coach Larry Wilson agreed, saying that Tuesday’s victory was particularly big for his squad after a tough loss on Saturday.
“I’m glad to see them bounce back, especially after that game with the Diamond Jaxx (on Saturday) where we basically gave them the game,” Wilson said. “I’m happy with this team. It’s a good bunch of kids.”
The Raiders recovered from allowing a run in the top of the first inning to post five in their half of the first frame with the help of a two-run homer off the bat of Brandon Wall. The Titans struck first, Josh Williamson walking and coming around to score off a Raider error.
