Quick baseball was the order of the day on Thursday, as the Post 411 Lansing Reds need only one hour, five minutes in game one and one hour, 15 minutes in game two to dispose of Post 23 Geiger Ready-Mix.

The Reds swept the American Legion Post 23 League doubleheader at Al Padilla Field by scores of 10-0 and 15-1, with both games ending on the run-spread rule after four innings. Reds’ head coach Mike Williams said he thought his team came out with the right attitude on Thursday evening and did what they needed to do.

“We talked to the boys before the game, and said that if you take care of the baseball and put the ball in play, good things happen,” Williams said. “So we came out in the right mindset. They showed up ready to play. ... We can get better, anybody can get better. But as far as today goes, we’re happy. We came out and played hard.”
