Immaculata girls take 4th at powerlifting meet

The Immaculata girls’ powerlifting team competed in the Basehor-Linwood Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth out of the 27 teams in attendance.


Bridget O’Neil led the team, finishing first place overall in her weight division. In addition to the first place overall she also placed first in her division’s bench press and clean competitions. Bridget O’Neil broke the Immaculata school record for cleans on the day as well, setting the new mark at 130 pounds.


Ashley O’Neil took third place overall in her weight division, also taking first place in the bench press. Shelbie Wolk was the final Lady Raider athlete to place overall in her weight class, taking fifth place.


Ashley Roberts and Emily Beckerjeck both placed in individual events on the day to help the team to their fourth-place finish. Roberts was second in bench press in her division, setting a new school record with a lift of 135 pounds. Beckerjeck was third in squats and also tied the Immaculata school record with a squat total of 200 pounds.


This meet was the first of the year for the girls’ after Immaculata started its powerlifting program last year.
