A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Leavenworth man accused of attacking a woman as she jogged in Leavenworth.
The hearing for Christopher M. Goff, 38, is scheduled for Sept. 14. The date was selected as Goff appeared Tuesday in Leavenworth County District Court with his court-appointed attorney, Clinton Lee.
Goff is charged with kidnapping and attempted rape.
He allegedly attacked a woman Thursday morning as she jogged in the area of 20th and Vilas streets. Other people who were in the area intervened, according to police.
Evidence will be presented during the preliminary hearing and a judge will decide if the case against Goff should proceed.
Goff remains in custody at the Leavenworth County Jail.
