Christmas is almost here – believe it or not. Some products may be hard to get with our current shipping problems, but these suggested items should arrive on time. Here are my choices for this year’s list:

Isaac Jaramillo set a standard last season, winning the Northeast Kansas League in his first year as the boys basketball coach at Pleasant Ridge. With two returning starters, including leading scorer Walker Adams, and another year in Jaramillo’s system, that will be the goal again.

Pleasant Ridge will have a new head coach when the Rams tip off the 2021-22 season Friday night at home against Horton. Laurie Gann, who has 436 career wins over 28 seasons in Missouri and Iowa, is taking over the Pleasant Ridge girls basketball program.

Graduating its leading scorer and point guard, Leavenworth has big shoes to fill. But the Pioneers have plenty of feet to fill them.

Graduating three state placers, Lansing has a lot of new faces in its wrestling room. And coach Ron Averill is excited to see their growth as the Lions open the 2021-22 season Wednesday night at home in a dual against Olathe South.
