A teen was taken to the hospital after a vehicle overturned south of Basehor, according to an official with the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

A teen was taken to the hospital after a vehicle overturned south of Basehor, according to an official with the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 12:01 a.m. Sunday at 158th Street and Metro Avenue.

A 17-year-old Emporia boy was driving south on 158th Street in a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado.

The truck went off of the road. The driver apparently overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The truck went into a ditch and overturned after striking an embankment, according to Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The driver was transported to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas, to be treated for various injuries.

The investigation is said to be ongoing.
