A man's body was found Wednesday morning near Three Mile Creek in downtown Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.

A man’s body was found Wednesday morning near Three Mile Creek in downtown Leavenworth, a police spokesman said.

“It doesn’t appear to be anything suspicious,” Maj. Dan Nicodemus, deputy chief of the Leavenworth Police Department, said of the man’s death. “We’re investigating.”

The body was discovered at 8:40 a.m. under a Third Street bridge.

Police believe the man died within 24 hours of the time his body was found.

Nicodemus said police have identified the man. His name has not been released.
