There are more than 250 businesses in the 28-block downtown district in Leavenworth.

And Wendy Scheidt wants to thank them all.

Scheidt is the executive director of Leavenworth Main Street, which is hosting its annual banquet next week.

The banquet is set for 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the Riverfront Community Center.

Admission is $15 per person and includes a catered meal.

People planning to attend should RSVP by Tuesday.

Tables are available for businesses or groups.

The event is open to the public and it is not necessary to be a member of Leavenworth Main Street.

“This is our way to celebrate the businesses and merchants in the community. We want to thank them for opening or maintaining a great business in our community.”

Scheidt said estimated attendance each year is about 180 people.

“This is a casual event with a great meal and you can mix with other small business owners,” she said.

She said Leavenworth Main Street administrators will give an update on the statistics about growth and development in the downtown district.

Leavenworth Main Street volunteers will be recognized at the event.
