No injuries were reported following a fire at a Basehor residence, a fire department official said.

The fire was reported at about 10:15 a.m. Friday at 2933 N. 155th St.

Assistant Chief Mike Lingenfelser of the Fairmount Township Fire Department said the fire started in the roof area as someone was heating shingles for roof work.

No one was inside the house at the time of the fire.

In addition to members of Fairmount Township Fire Department, firefighters from Leavenworth County Fire District No. 1 and Stranger Township Fire Department responded.

Firefighters had the fire extinguished in about an hour.
