Sandy Hattock is the general manger of the Leavenworth Times, which is hosting Ladies Night Out from 4-8 p.m. Saturday at the Heritage Center.

Sandy, what is Ladies Night Out and how many years has the Times hosted this event?
LNO is a fun night for women to get out of the house, grab their friends, enjoy some food samples, beverages, bid on silent auction items, win door prizes or maybe even one of our grand prizes, all while helping the Alliance Against Family Violence and CASA.

Where do the funds from this event go and why is it important for people to attend?
We have raised money for the Alliance Against Family Violence for several years. Last year, because the AAFV was closed and a new Child Advocacy Center opened at CASA, we felt it was a natural fit to help them. This year we have the honor of helping both organizations. I challenge the community to come out and support the causes. Most of the admission money and 100 percent of the silent auction, door prize and grand prize tickets sold will be split between these two organizations.

What is different about Ladies Night Out this year?
For the first time we are having the event at the Heritage Center, 109 Delaware St., in downtown Leavenworth. We have three new food vendors, several new vendors, adult beverages and because we have made the great baskets at a higher value, silent auction bids will start higher than in the past. Remember, 100 percent of the silent auction goes to the AAFV and CASA.

What are the prizes that will be available in the silent auction?
We have more than 100 baskets filled with great prizes for both silent auction and door prizes.
Go to Ladies Night Out Leavenworth on Facebook. We are posting photos of several of the prizes but we get new baskets every day.
All items for door prizes or silent auction are more than $25.
We have more than $10,000 of donated items.

Where can people get tickets?
On Friday tickets are $15.
Visit www.leavenworthtimes.com/ladiesnightout or come by the Leavenworth Times, 422 Seneca St., Kansas Country Store, 728 Cherokee St., the Heritage Center, 109 Delaware St., or CASA, 100 S. 5th St. Saturday at the door tickets are $20.
