A Lansing man was killed when he was thrown from a motorcycle during a collision near Tonganoxie, according to an official with the Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 5:22 p.m. Sunday at 207th Street and Tonganoxie Drive.

Curtis F. Haskins, 58, was traveling northeast on Tonganoxie Drive on a 1990 Honda GL1500 motorcycle. The motorcycle reportedly struck the rear of a car. The driver of the car reportedly had stopped and was waiting to turn north onto 207th Street, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

Haskins was ejected from the motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The collision caused the car to go into the ditch. The car’s driver, a 26-year-old Tonganoxie woman, complained of injuries to her head and right arm following the accident.

She was taken to Lawrence Memorial Hospital by a family member, according to Sherley.
