A woman has been sentenced to supervised release for embezzling from a Leavenworth savings and loan, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Theresa Williams, 49, Leavenworth, was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court to two years on federal supervised release.

In December, Williams pleaded guilty to one count of theft by a bank employee. In her plea, she admitted to embezzling $13,000 from Mutual Savings Association while working as a bank teller. To cover up the crime, she made false entries in bank reports, according to the release from the office of Stephen McAllister, U.S. attorney for Kansas.
