The Leavenworth Times is hosting the Life Expo for seniors for the second year in a row from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 17 at the Heritage Center in downtown Leavenworth.

The event will offer free admission, lunch, vendor booths, entertainment and games.
“In past years seniors have really enjoyed the food, entertainment and bingo,” said Sandy Hattock, general manager of the Times. Her favorite part of the event last year was watching everyone enjoy themselves with the good food and activities.

There will be a variety of booths including a punchcard to be used at each booth to qualify to win a gift basket. There will be additional prize drawings at the booths. Sloppy Joes, cole slaw, chips and cookies will be available along with doughnuts while they last.

Due to the generosity of the local sponsors, Saint John Hospital, Heritage Center, Davis Funeral Chapel, United Healthcare, Wealcan, Mutual Savings, Butler’s Muffler & Auto Repair, Neighborhood Hearing and Commerce Bank, there is no admission fee.

“It is a free event for the public thanks to the generosity of our sponsors,” said Hattock. “We are asking people who are interested in attending to pre-register at the Leavenworth Times or Heritage Center to be entered into a drawing for a $200 basket.”

Hattock believes the event is a great way for seniors to interact with and have fun with other seniors in a setting that provides the perfect venue for good food, music, shopping and lively games.

“We hope all seniors will come by and enjoy a little shopping, lunch and good company,” said Hattock. To find out more about the event check the April 9 Leavenworth Times or the April 10 Chronicle Shopper Senior Chronicle.
