A woman suffered broken leg when her motorcycle crashed into a sign west of Leavenworth, according to an official with the Sheriff’s Office.

A woman suffered broken leg when her motorcycle crashed into a sign west of Leavenworth, according to an official with the Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported at 5:48 p.m. Tuesday on Kansas 92 Highway south of Lecompton Road.

A 53-year-old woman was traveling north on the highway on a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle. She swerved while traveling around a curve to avoid an obstruction in the roadway. She was unable to correct the motorcycle, which went off the road and collided with a sign, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.

The woman was transported by Leavenworth County EMS to the University of Kansas Hospital, Kansas City, Kansas.
