Local residents who are looking for something to read may want to stop by the Leavenworth Public Library this weekend.

The library, located at 417 Spruce St., is having a Spring Cleaning Book Sale. The sale will take place Friday through Sunday during normal library hours.

Library Director Matt Nojonen estimated the sale will feature between 1,000 and 2,000 items.

“They are in good condition,” he said.

He said the sale will feature nonfiction and fiction books of varying genres. He said there also will be DVDs for sale.

Most of the items for sale were donated to the library. But the sale will include some items that are being weeded from the library’s collection.

“Everything is a dollar a piece,” Nojonen said.

Only cash or checks will be accepted.

Nojonen said proceeds from the book sale will support library programs for children and adults.

The library will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and from 1-5 p.m. Sunday.
