A woman suffered facial injuries when she crashed a moped in southeast Leavenworth County, according to an official with the Sheriff's Office.

A woman suffered facial injuries when she crashed a moped in southeast Leavenworth County, according to an official with the Sheriff's Office.

The crash was reported at 7:13 p.m. Tuesday at 166th Street and Kansas Avenue.

The 29-year-old Lawrence woman was traveling on a moped when she transitioned from a paved road to a gravel surface. The moped skidded out of control as it struck the gravel, resulting in injuries to the driver, according to Leavenworth County Undersheriff Jim Sherley.
